Recently, the “2014 Beautiful China Hotel Industry Summit • Ten Beautiful Hotel Public Selection Awards Ceremony” was held in Hong Kong. Glenview ITC Plaza Chongqing Hotel (“Glenview Hotel”) won awards for “Beautiful China • China Best Service Hotel” and “Beautiful China • China Best Customer Satisfaction Hotel” in recognition of its high quality, considerate and excellent service and good reputation.
Hoteliers Summit Asia is currently one of the most influential brand hotel industry summits, and has been held annually over the last 8 years. The Gold Olive Awards are highly respected and considered the most influential and credible awards within the Asia hotel industry. Often regarded as the “Oscar” of the hotel industry, they reflect the hotels’ popularity, reputation, social attention, credibility and influence. The jury members of Gold Olive Award consisted of the most influential international and domestic executives, experts and professors in the hotel industry. The Gold Olive Award • Ten Beautiful Hotel Public Selection is an extension and reflection of Gold Olive Award’s new meaning and responsibilities, which include the promotion, development and transformation of China’s hotel industry to fulfill the goal of “Beautiful China”.
The 18th CPC Central Committee stated its goal to construct a “Beautiful China” by injecting a new approach to developing the hotel industry, in the future. The CPC Central Committee aims to strengthen the social responsibilities of hotel enterprises, to promote the green, low-carbon development of hotel industry, to reduce waste, to make a positive contribution to construct a beautiful China. It aims to promote the rapid development of Chinese hotel industry and to enhance the brand image of beautiful hotels.
The public selection ties in closely with the target of constructing a “beautiful China”, by shaping “beautiful hotels” with Chinese characteristics. “Building beautiful hotels, hotel innovation and high quality service” are the main basis of this public selection. The award takes the comprehensive evaluation method of “self-declaration, media publicity, public voting and expert view”. The assessment consists of four aspects which are “scientific development, innovative service, low-carbon environmental protection and social responsibilities” along with other evaluation indicators, which include hotel reputation, popularity, influence, competence, operations and service, facilities, catering, public praise, cultural history, environmental protection, energy-saving and emission-reduction. The prize was finally awarded to the best hotel based on a overall measure of the above indicators and the comprehensive evaluation was used to promote Chinese hotel industry development with a standardized and scientific approach.
